Hope everyone is well! We are going to be closed Thursday and Friday to spend time with our families and friends. We will re-open bright and early Monday morning, December 1st.
The first batch of Mayan Flared wood items are up on the site (bloodwood plugs and tunnels and olivewood plugs and tunnels). We will be releasing them in other woods as we get time to make the samples and create the products on the site, but if you want any of the other woods just let us know and we’ll be happy to custom make those pieces for you.
For the first time, we have decided to put our amber and jadeite collections on sale to move some pieces out and make room for developing new ones
The sale will run from November 18th to December 18th, and features pieces with discounts ranging from 9% to over 15% depending on the piece, how much it costs us to make and how many of them we made. This is a great chance to snatch up any of those dream pieces you may have been drooling over. There are no plans to have another sale including these materials.
On a side note, we made these pretty rad custom pieces today. Guatemalan jade teardrops at 1 1/8″ (28.6mm). The jade has really interesting black tourmaline inclusions throughout – very unique material (which we have a TON of by the way) that we’ve never seen before. We bought it as a huge rough block over 12″ square more than a year ago and only recently got it cut so we could use it.

For those of you wishing to receive products from us in time for Christmas, here are some notes to keep in mind:
- Production time for orders increases by a few days due to higher order volume during December
- Order fulfillment time increases by a few days for the same reason. Plan accordingly.
- Onetribe office/workshop will be CLOSED the afternoon of Tuesday, December 23rd to Sunday, January 4th to spend time with our families and friends. The site will remain live and ordering may still take place, but jewelry production and order filling will cease until we reopen on Monday, January 5th. At that time we will start again, oldest orders first, working our rears off until we are caught back up.
- Orders placed by 11:59pm Sunday, December 21st are guaranteed to ship before we close, although they are not guaranteed to arrive by December 25th unless you have chosen an expedited method based on the charts below.
Both the US Postal Service and FedEx have holiday shipping calendars you can use to judge which dates will need which shipping methods to arrive in time, for both domestic and international shipments.
USPS -> http://www.usps.com/holiday/shippingcalendar.htm
FedEx -> http://www.fedex.com/us/holiday/shipping/lastdaystoship.html
If you are placing an order in December we highly recommend a swifter or trackable method for your parcel. Just as a reminder, we do not replace or reship anything other than trackable services: USPS Express Mail and FedEx Ground, 2Day and Express.
We have been at it all day adding new products to the site for your viewing (and hopefully purchasing) pleasure. Some of the additions include hanging styles in several different materials, some one off pieces of jewelry including the most off the hook little amber pieces ever, a set of ~00g Pink Dominican Amber. The hanging styles include the Saraswati Swan and the Koi Fin as well as some styles we’ve dubbed “saddlebags” – a chubby style and a narrow thin style.
We’ve added several new ear care items and packages to keep your piercings healthy.
There are some new site enhancements worth mentioning – the category pages now offer you the option to display 9, 18, or 36 items per page to make browsing a little easier if you have a fast connection. The wishlist feature is now a little more robust and includes a public link that you are welcome to send to your friends and family or post on your website. Log in and add items to your wishlist to get a feel for how that works. We’ve updated the emails the site sends out to be HTML formatted and a little more organized, and we’re also working on enabling comments on this weblog so you guys can leave us feedback on the things we talk about as well as the custom items and other products we post photographs of.
We have a couple of things left to do on the back end and some organizing to do, and then we will be sending out a newsletter announcing all of the new items, in addition to some information about an upcoming sale. If you’re not subscribed, you should be, because there will be some items on sale (which we almost never put on sale to begin with) that only newsletter subscribers will get the first word on.
It’s just about 9pm, so I’m getting out of here. Have a great night guys!
We finally finished the reprint of the new shirts. We had some issues getting the piercings to show up, but we kept at it and finally tweaked the file and screen so they show up. It’s way rad, you definitely need one

Finished these little beauties today. Some of you may remember a while back we posted a set of redwood burl and amber pieces to the weblog here on the site. That customer told us he gets compliments on them constantly, and loves them so much he wanted to do another set but from a lighter material. He decided on moose antler, and here they are! 0g moose antler Mayan flared tunnels with amber cabochons.

New goodies, and a huge sale coming very soon. We’ll send out a newsletter and update this weblog when it’s time
First of all, if any of you use the RSS (Really Simple Syndication) capability in your browser, or you use a RSS reader to browse sites you like to keep up with, you’ll be delighted (I hope!) to know that we have added an RSS feed to this blog so you can add us to your live bookmarks and keep abreast of new posts and such. In Firefox you will see the little orange RSS icon in the address bar, and you can click that and elect to add to your bookmarks bar as a live bookmark. You can then see the weblog headers without visiting this page.
We wanted to let everyone know that our customer service employee Cameron is an accomplished piercer and he will be working at our friend’s shop Fuzion Ink in Norfolk, Virginia on June 6th and 7th. If you live in the area and you want to get some work done, or talk to a Onetribe employee about getting some jewelry made, go hit up Cameron! He will be there with some samples of jewelry and raw material samples to show off, as well as performing some technically excellent piercing procedures. I’ve personally let him stick needles and real big suspension hooks in me and I have to say he’s got skills, and an impeccable bedside manner to boot.
